World Sleep Day

Today is World Sleep Day. You may not have had it penciled on your calendar. You/I may only be aware of it because of a marketing campaign by some mattress or pajama or supplement company from whom you receive emails, urging you to purchase and then use their products to better mark the day. World Sleep Day is “designed to raise awareness of sleep as a human privilege that is often compromised by the habits of modern life,” and I am thinking of that tonight, after spending a few hours in bad traffic earlier. Nothing about sleep to sell here: I’m just encouraging you to climb into your bed and snuggle into a delicious night’s sleep tonight—and every night!—allowing autophagy; welcoming dreams, embracing restoration.
