Hello, You!

I’m Nancy. I live in my adopted hometown of Austin, Texas, where my husband and I raised our three sons (about whom I’m not going to say more here right now, because I could go on and on with great effusiveness about them). Although I was born in New York, I grew up in an isolated town of 750 residents in Alaska, and my winding educational path has included graduating at 16 from a tiny public high school among a class of 15; Yale with a degree in American Studies; an MBA program; and—most recently—yoga teacher training. From Connecticut to Delaware to Chicago to Georgia to Washington State to California and Texas, I have extensive teaching experience in early childhood through twelfth grades in private, public, church, and home schools, as well as adult education. I’ve designed, developed, and delivered curriculum for late elementary, middle, and high school grade levels, in addition to corporate training and private coaching and tutoring in writing and communication. I’m looking for a publisher for my current completed novel and writing the next one. I’ve been a teacher and a writer at least since I was 11 years old and sat on the floor of the school’s laundry room with my 5-year-old sister waiting for her clothes to dry—she’d slipped on water-covered ice on the way to school, and her pants and coat were soaked—and worked on the alphabet with her. And then I wrote my grandmother a letter detailing the experience. 

What I’m interested in most is learning more about being fully human—in vibrant and thriving ways—then sharing what I’ve learned with you. I’ve studied a wide range of topics that seem relevant and important to me, and I’ve had decades of personal experimentation and practice at optimizing outcomes within serious constraints. I love to nurture my people and witness their growth. I’ve found joy and success even in the midst of unexpected and sometimes crushing circumstances, and I want to support you on your own heroic journey into and through the unknown. Sometimes, the rockiest paths create the nimblest climbers, and I’m here to support you on your path as you transform yourself and your life into all that you desire.
